What does this involve?
The Scottish Land Fund supports rural and urban communities to become more resilient and sustainable through the ownership and management of land and land assets.
The fund offers grants of between £5,000 and £1 million to help communities take ownership of the land and buildings that matter to them, as well as practical support to develop their aspirations into viable projects.
It is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered in partnership with The National Lottery Community Fund and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
Am I eligible?
The Scottish Land Fund is open to community-led organisations in both urban and rural Scotland that are community-controlled and defined by a geographic area. Applicants must be non-profit distributing.

Access to this service is free.

How long does this take?
There is a 2-stage application process. As a guide, the minimum time between application and funding decision is usually around 4 months.
Important information
Grants are made based on the value of the land or building as determined by an independent market valuation.
Before you apply, you must contact The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland to discuss your idea. If your project is eligible, you will be assigned a Scottish Land Fund adviser from Highlands and Islands Enterprise, who will help you develop your idea and get ready to submit your application.
